New 11.60m rescue boat

Signing event with the French sea-rescue association SNSM on May 26th 2017

During the Morbihan Gulf's Week, the French sea-rescue association (SNSM) has signed a contract to construct a new rescue boat with Alumarine Shipyard.

The event took place on May 26th on board the Hydrograaf vessel based in Vannes (Morbihan Gulf, Brittany).

Officials, journalists, sea-rescuers, donors... were pleased to discover this latest generation boat SNS 277 which will equip the sea-rescuers of the Morbihan Gulf soon.

Xavier de la Gorce, President of the SNSM and Stéphan Constance, President of the Grand Large Yachting Group (holding of Alumarine Shipyard) both attended this signing event.

In 2014, the shipyard had delivered the rescue boat SNS 275 to the sea-rescuers of Barcarès in south of France. The visit and sea trials of this boat by the Brittain teams were decisive in their choice.

"Quality of construction, ergonomic deck, large wheelhouse, low consumption are all aspects that influenced our choice for this versatile model that fits very well with our missions" says Pierre Johannel, President of the Morbihan Gulf's sea-rescuers.

"In addition, this professional boat is particularly well suited to our navigation zone with its excellent seaworthiness, low "windage" and low draft. This boat is fast, goes to planing quickly and generates a low bow wave".

This compact and lightweight 11.6-meter SNS 277 will be dedicated to rescue missions including diving, sanitary evacuation and towing of boats in difficulty.

The sea-rescuers will be able to intervene very quickly, in optimum comfort and safety conditions, with a moderate fuel consumption.

Launching is planned for early 2018.
