Launch of a new 14m mussel harvesting boat
Â
After a series of sea trials, this new mussel harvesting boat in aluminium left the Alumarine shipyard to her mussel farm based in the north of Scotland.
Â
This 14-meter boat with symmetrical hulls was specifically designed for fishing and harbour work.
Her catamaran configuration is adapted to the specific specification of the boats working with an important variable load:
- Very stable platform, capacity to lift from the side
- Capacity to carry heavy and variable loads
- Adapted hull shapes for medium speed
- Seaworthiness
- Optimized fuel consumption
Â
So the boat gather a very good stability, a big loading capacity (12T) and a large deck area (52 m²), perfect to work on board efficiently.
Â
The deck is clear, equipped with a 11T/m crane at the rear and a mussels sorting and washing machine.
A second steering console on the starboard side deck also allow to maneuver from the exterior.
Â
The boat meets the MCA workboat standards.
